Dot graduated from Carolina, but once she met and married M.A. "Patches" Meares she became an avid N.C. State Wolfpack fan! Dot and Patches were married for 65 years and enjoyed traveling around the world with good friends supporting Wolfpack athletics.
Dot and Patches were long-time members of the Carolina Country Club where they enjoyed golfing, dancing and the company of many friends.
Dot was a lifetime member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church where she enjoyed the Hugh Isley Sunday School Class for many years and served in the Stephen's Ministry, a lay caregiving ministry.
